What Is Being Present/In The Moment

Einstein said “I never think of the future, it comes soon enough.” Tolstoy said “Now is the most important time because it is the only time that we have any power.”
When you’re present, your head is no longer full of past or future scenarios, you’re here, focused toward the person you’re interacting with or on the task you’re doing. You can ‘tune out’ distractions from your surroundings. When you’re present, you spend less time analysing and labelling things, people, situations … you learn to appreciate your world more and you become less judgemental.
Staying present can be a bit tough … so remember not to be too hard on yourself if you find you slip back to reflecting on past or future scenarios. Aim for consistency rather than perfection – over time, slipping back into old habits will lessen …
